The article really speaks for itself. Charlie Crist appointed a liberal to the Florida Supreme Court and the Orlando Sentinel loves it.

Personal Life

Charlie Crist has perhaps gained the most attention in Florida and nationwide for his personal life. While his personal life is in fact personal, it still says something about the substance of his politics that the only thing people can find to talk about is relationship gossip.

Again, Florida deserves better.

What if he runs for Senate?

The rumor recently (though not so much since Stimulus February) has been that Charlie Crist may try to run for the Senator Martinez’s soon to be vacant Senate seat in 2010. At this point, these are just rumors but our efforts are still needed in such a situation.

First, we would need to make sure that the next Governor of Florida is truly a conservative. Second, we would need to make sure that Charlie Crist is defeated by a real Republican in the Senatorial primary (Hopefully, by former Florida House Speaker Rubio). We can’t let Charlie Crist get to Washington to join hands with the Pennsylvania RINO and the two from Maine.

Even the Orlando Sentinel criticizes (sort of) Crist’s support for the Stimulus.

The Orlando Sentinel Editorial Board is no beacon of conservative values. Yet even they show a sign of common sense and admit that Charlie Crist needs to take a different approach (read: smaller government) to the financial crisis.

CPAC 2009 Straw Poll:

Charlie Crist finished dead last at the CPAC straw poll. Every candidate in front of him opposed the stimulus. Second place finisher Bobby Jindal even gave the GOP response to the stimulus and has otherwise been a large opponent of the plan.

The Minnesota Independent even went as far to call Crist a “heretical figure” in conservative circles.

Simply put, the 4th largest state in the nation deserves better.

There are primary elections for a reason. The conservative movement is in need of real conservatives. We lost in 2008 because of moderates. Charlie Crist has been nothing but a moderate, at times even a liberal. His support of the “Stimulus” should be the last straw.

If Charlie Crist wins the GOP nomination in 2010, I will support him. There is no good reason, however, to support him until that point.

This sight will be dedicated to identifying, “drafting,” nominating and electing a REAL Republican for Florida in 2010.

Let’s start a movement in Florida!
